Würth Elektronik Gleanergy Demonstration Kit
Würth Elektronik Gleanergy Demonstration Kit powers wireless sensor nodes using ambient energy sources including light, heat, vibration, stress / strain, high intensity AC magnetic fields, and more. This form of energy harvesting extends the kit's battery life, which it only uses to sustain itself when ambient energy sources are not present. The Gleanergy board features an on-board thermoelectric generator and solar cells. The board also uses an ARM Cortex-M3 processor embedded with SmartMesh IP networking software. Users use a GUI to evaluate the board, an IAR Embedded Workbench to write a program, then upload it using a JTAG debugger or Eterna Serial Programmer. The demonstration kit supports external components via its ADCs, GPIOs, and serial ports. An E-Ink display provides user feedback, while two coulomb counters measure battery data. This kit includes instructions for configuring jumpers and switches to match system settings.
