December 19, 2019 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. and Qorvo today introduced into the distribution channel the QPA9121 driver amplifier, part of Qorvo's innovative RF portfolio of gallium nitride (GaN) transistors and amplifiers. The wideband, high-gain, and high-peak-power driver device uses Qorvo's advanced gallium arsenide heterojunction bipolar transistor (GaAs HBT) process technology to enable exceptional power density, reliability, and gain in a reduced footprint.

The Qorvo QPA9121 driver amplifier, available from Mouser Electronics, is a low-power solution ideal for variety of RF wireless infrastructure, repeaters and distributed antenna systems and applications. The device features an operational frequency range of 2.3 GHz to 5 GHz, and is internally matched to 50 Ω over the entire operating frequency band. The amplifier provides 27 dBm P3dB with a 28 dB gain at 2.6 GHz, and have been proven to deliver excellent DPD correction with 5G signals as wide as 160 MHz.

With a quiescent current of 95 mA, the QPA9121 can also function as a driver in a transmit path DPD loop, perfectly suited for massive multiple-input, multiple-output (mMIMO) applications — the transmitting and receiving of multiple data streams simultaneously over mobile 5G using several antennas on the base station and the same time/frequency resources. The amplifier is supported by the QPA9121EVB-01 evaluation board, also available from Mouser.
