ACKme Networks Wi-Fi Products Now Available from Mouser

ACKme AMW004 Wallaby WICED Wi-Fi Module

April 21, 2014 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. has entered into a global distribution agreement with ACKme Networks to distribute their line of compact, low power Wi-Fi modules. ACKme Networks modules have the appropriate certifications to enable developers to quickly incorporate Wi-Fi functionality into their products without having to apply for many of the RF, protocol, or regulatory compliances required for some regions.

The ACKme Networks WiFi modules now available from Mouser Electronics are ready to be inserted into developer's projects that require Wi-Fi connectivity. These modules allow developers to add Wi-Fi functionality to their designs without having to design, test, and debug Wi-Fi RF circuits from scratch. ACKme Wi-Fi modules meet the appropriate certifications from FCC (USA), CE (Europe), and IC (Canada). These certifications save time and money by eliminating the requirements to obtain many of the costly certifications required to sell these products into these different markets.

Mouser is stocking ACKme Networks' AMW004 Wallaby WICED Wi-Fi Networking Module, a fully certified, small form factor, low power surface mount 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi module suitable for most Wi-Fi applications. This module's firmware includes WiConnect, an intelligent software that includes an embedded TCP/IP stack which provides easy access to the module for both humans and machines alike. WiConnect offers extensive libraries including HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, and TLS. Native cloud connectivity is also supported. The module also offers embedded antennas to further speed system design. ACKme's Hornet has the same functionality and certifications as the Wallaby except in a through-hole mount package. The pin-out of the Hornet is compatible with the common small form factor pin-out often used in 802.15.4 ZigBee applications, allowing developers to replace less standardized ZigBee based systems with today's more accepted 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi based communications.

Mouser will also distribute ACKme's line of easy to use development tools designed for novice to advanced developers. The tools plug into a PC using a standard USB cable, allowing the Wallaby module to be programmed and configured using a standard terminal interface.
