EPCOS / TDK Automotive Onboard Charging Solutions feature chip NTCs, chip varistors, leaded varistors, GFCs, surge arresters, and CeraLink® DC-link capacitors with output filtering. The leaded varistors provide high-voltage surge protection with the use of a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) inrush current limiter (ICL) for inrush current protection. DC Fast Chargers - The chargers offer a 1200V rating, 500A current, and typically contain a 2-piece HVC per DC outlet. The chargers are fast and provide reliable switching based on more than 80 years of technology experience in gas, ceramics, and electric arcs.
Onboard Chargers - These chargers feature a hermetically sealed and bipolar design of main contactors. In case of an emergency, the HVC disconnects the charger from the battery.
