Littelfuse Circuit Protection for IoT Wearable Devices
Littelfuse Circuit Protection for IoT Wearable Devices provide protection and are also extremely small in size to be compatible with the small form factor of IoT Wearables. For general purpose circuits (buttons, audio, etc.), the SP1013 and SP1014 are available in 0201 size; for the ultimate in small size, the SP1020 and SP1021 are 01005 size. For high-frequency circuits (RF), the SP3022 is available with 0.35pF and 0201 size.As an alternative technology, polymer-based ESD suppressors can be used for protection where minimal impact on signal/data rates is required. For example, for high-speed USB 3.1 communication, the XGD Series XTREME-GUARD™ ESD Suppressor is available in 0603 and 0402 sizes with a capacitance of 0.09pF or less.
Since a battery is the essential power source of any Wearable device, it is critical that the charging process of the battery is adequately controlled and protected against over-current effects. The LoRho Series resettable Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) device is available in a wide range of surface mount packages, down to 0402 size. These PPTC devices provide reliable over-current protection for the battery when it is being charged, helping to ensure a safe charge and preserve the life of the battery.
The ChipFuse Technology 435 Series surface-mount fuses feature SlimLine, Ultra-Small SMT, 35A interrupt rating @32VDC with current ratings of 0.25A to 5A.
