Amphenol Aerospace Rugged System-on-Modules (SOMs)

Amphenol Aerospace Rugged System-on-Modules (SOMs) are embedded computer modules for managed switch functionality and multicast in harsh environments. These ultra-compact SOMs stack onto the back of the SwitchBlox Rugged (CF-02BBSWR) via the RMII Ethernet interface, offering multicast capabilities and complete management. The rugged SOMs can be powered from an unprotected 5V to 60V voltage range and include tolerance for overvoltage and reverse voltage.

The rugged SOMs feature a 30,000 feet maximum operating altitude and a -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range. These SOMs can be accessed via the onboard UART serial port, RS-485/422 serial port, or USB port in device mode. These rugged SOMs offer sophisticated networking in a form factor optimized for Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) limited applications.
