Analog Devices Industrial 4.0 Smart Factory Solutions is a concept that envisions factories of tomorrow as vastly more integrated, automated, and flexible. Using these solutions, factories can become faster and more efficient in churning out goods desired by the changing marketplace. Factory automation is concerned with the automatic control of process machinery. A process controller monitors and measures operational and environmental variables. The controller then sends actuation commands out to control devices or alarms. The controllers are usually microcontroller-based machines with an architecture optimized to meet the needs of the factory and application.

MAX1493x 4-Channel Digital Isolators

Analog Devices Inc. MAX1493x 4-Channel Digital Isolators are digital isolators utilizing ADI’s proprietary process technology. The MAX14930–MAX14932 are 2.75kVRMS and 3.75kVRMS digital isolators, and the MAX14130–MAX14131 are 1kVRMS digital isolators in smaller footprint QSOP packages. The MAX14930–MAX14932 transfers digital signals between circuits with different power domains at ambient temperatures up to +125°C. These devices also offer all three possible unidirectional channel configurations to accommodate any 4-channel design, including SPI, RS-232, RS-485, and digital I/O applications. These devices are available with data rates from DC up to 1Mbps, 25Mbps, or 150Mbps. Each ADI MAX1493x is also available in either a default high or default low configuration. The default is the state an output goes to when its input is unpowered.
